Carlsbad’s Red Carpet, Hollywood-Style Premiere at Moviemax Theatres Raises Funds for Foundation’s Grants toward Science, Music and Educational Innovation Programs

Carlsbad Educational Foundation (CEF), a non-profit organization devoted to developing and launching educational and enrichment programs for more than 10,000 Carlsbad students, is presenting the local premiere of “We Must Remember,” a new Holocaust documentary film created by Carlsbad High School’s award-winning CHSTV broadcasting program. The student-produced film focuses on firsthand accounts of Holocaust survivors and American WW II veterans who liberated the Dachau concentration camp while also chronicling the students’ journey while creating the film. The local premiere takes place on Thursday, February 19th, at Moviemax Theatres in Carlsbad. Special showings will begin with a discounted afternoon viewing for seniors at 3:00 p.m., followed by showings at 7:00 and 8:30 p.m., along with a Q&A session with the student filmmakers; director Doug Green, a former Carlsbad Teacher of the Year and CHSTV broadcasting teacher/advisor; as well as Lisa Posard, executive producer and president of the board of directors for the Carlsbad Educational Foundation. Additionally, each showing will feature a musical performance by Luke Walton, the film’s composer. Tickets can be purchased for $10 at http://www.moviemax.com/or the theatre box office at 2385 Marron Road in Carlsbad. Chili’s, Pat & Oscar’s, Rubio’s and Souplantation restaurants closest to the theater are celebrating this local premiere by donating a percentage of sales when special restaurant flyers are presented the evening of the premiere. These flyers can be found on the CEF website at http://www.carlsbaded.org/
